Explore the historical capital of the Inca Empire with this half-day City Tour in Cusco. Discover the fascinating blend of Inca and colonial architecture as you visit some of the city’s most important landmarks, including ancient temples, impressive ruins, and iconic plazas. This tour is perfect for travelers looking to immerse themselves in the history and culture of one of the most beautiful cities in South America.
Our journey takes you to the heart of Cusco’s living history, starting with its famous cathedral, the Inca Temple of the Sun (Qorikancha), and several magnificent archaeological sites just outside the city, such as Sacsayhuamán, Q’enqo, Puka Pukara, and Tambomachay. Enjoy expert guidance from our local tour guide, who will share stories and secrets that make Cusco such a unique destination.
We begin in the afternoon with a guided visit to the Cathedral of Cusco, an architectural jewel filled with priceless paintings and colonial art. Next, we continue to the Qorikancha (Temple of the Sun), the most important temple of the Inca Empire, where the Incas dedicated worship to Inti, the Sun God.
Afterwards, we head to the outskirts of Cusco to explore impressive Inca ruins: Sacsayhuamán, a fortress built with massive stone blocks; Q’enqo, a ceremonial site with carved rock formations; Puka Pukara, a military complex with red-colored stones; and Tambomachay, known as the Inca Baths due to its water fountains. The tour concludes in Cusco city center, allowing you free time to enjoy its lively atmosphere.
