The Urubamba River rafting tour is an exciting and unforgettable experience, perfect for those seeking adventure and nature during their stay in Cusco. This full-day trip takes you through Class II to III+ rapids on one of the most iconic rivers in the Sacred Valley, surrounded by stunning Andean landscapes and traditional agricultural areas.
This activity is suitable for beginners in good physical condition, as it includes prior instruction, full safety equipment, and the guidance of certified professional instructors. It’s ideal for solo travelers, couples, or groups looking to combine adrenaline with a day outdoors.
📅 Itinerary
We will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco between 8:00 and 8:30 a.m. and head in tourist transport to the Chuquicahuana area, located south of the Sacred Valley, approximately 1.5 hours away. At the starting point, you will receive a safety briefing and be provided with all necessary equipment: life jacket, helmet, paddle, and wetsuit.
Once ready, you will begin your rafting adventure on the Urubamba River, navigating for approximately 2 hours through Class II and III rapids, depending on the season (more intense between January and April). Along the way, we will make short stops to enjoy the scenery and take photos.
At the end of the descent, you can shower and change clothes at the base camp, followed by a picnic-style lunch. After a short rest, we will return to Cusco, arriving between 4:30 and 5:00 p.m.
